Why Education in Africa?
Nearly 100 million children in Africa remain out of school, with the situation particularly dire in conflict-affected regions and remote rural areas
In some countries, such as South Sudan and Somalia, children receive less than two years of schooling on average, severely limiting their future opportunities
Education has been proven to be one of the most effective tools for breaking the cycle of poverty, with UNESCO estimating that if all students in low-income countries had just basic reading skills, 171 million people could escape extreme poverty
Girls are disproportionately affected by lack of educational access, with millions never having the opportunity to attend school at all
